Mbokani opens door to Juventus, others

Dieumerci Mbokani a Congolese International striker has threatened to abandon Belgian league where he plays due to the fact that Belgian referees are not protecting their strikers from brutal and rough tackles on the pitch and move to a country where players are protected. This occurred after he was given a red card in the last match played against Genk.

For many clubsides in Europe including Juventus of Turin,this is good news as they had tried in the past to sign the player. Anderlect has placed a €6 million transfer tag on him, and this season Mbokani has scored 17 goals in 19 league matches played, 2 goals in 5 UEFA champions league games and 1 goal in 2 FA ties.

Fifa turns down Sudan appeal

During the match between Sudan and Zambia for the 2014 world cup qualifier in Brazil, Sudan included Saif Ali who was suspended as a result of a sent off red card he was given in the first encounter they had with the same opponent.
This led to Sudan's 2-0 victory to be nullified and a 3-0 win given to Zambia thus putting Zambia on top of group D in the second round of the African world cup qualifiers for Brazil 2014.
All appeal by Sudan to nullify the ruling has been turned down by FIFA's Court of Arbitration for Sport(CAS).

Hayatou to be re-elected CAF President

The incumbent President of the confederation of African football Issa Hayatou wil be re-elected in Marrakech,Morocco on sunday. The election which saw the Camerounian running unopposed is because of the fact that his contestant from Ivory Coast Mr Jacques anuoma was disqualified and his appeal thrown out by Court of Arbitration for Sport(CAS) on grounds that he had since been barred from voting after CAF changed its statutes in 2012 stating that only voting members of CAF Executive Committee were allowed to contest for Presidential elections.

Arsenal set eye on QPR's Taarabt

Although Taarabt is still under contract with QPR which will end in 2016, Arsenal FC is trying to convince the Moroccan and Queens Park Rangers’s midfielder to join them in June according to newspaper reports.

Moroccan winger Oussama Assaidi, the 24 years old former Heerenveen player who is currently in Liverpool has not lived up to expectation and his contract might be terminated by his Anfield side.
 
The Ghanaian born 21 years old Emmanuel Frimpong’s stay at the Craven Cottage with Fulham where he arrived in January on a six-month loan from Arsenal will be extended after fully recovering from two serious knee injuries which kept him out for almost two years.

Nigeria VS Kenya: Keshi names 24 home players


As the Nigeria Premier league kicks off on saturday, critics wonder why Stephen Keshi, Super Eagles coach did not wait to see the performance of the players before inviting the 24 home based players for camping ahead of the world cup qualifier against Kenya which will take place in Calabar, Nigeria on the 23rd of March.
The players are expected to arrive in Abuja on sunday, also names of the foreign based players will be revealed on Thursday 7th march.

Emmanuel Adebayor may join Eto'o


According to reports by some British tabloids, Emmanuel Adebayor of Tottenham spurs and Togolese national team may continue his football career next season by joining Eto'o Samuel's Anzhi Makhachala in the Russian league.
Tottenham is demanding for either an exchange with Lacina Traore of the Ivorian national team who is currently playing at Anzhi or a whooping sum of €10million.

Everton goes for a Ghanaian striker


Christian Atsu, a Ghanaian international striker currently under contract with Fc Porto  of Portugal is likely to join Everton Fc this summer in the premiership league.
The 21 year old player who is keen in the move is hopeful of grabbing regular appearances at Everton compared to a handful he has had so far at Fc Porto.
And from Belgium, there is a strong interest by Anderlecht for a Moroccan 22 year old midfielder, Anouar Kali who plays in Holland with Ultrecht.  Ajax of Amsterdam is also interested in signing Kali.
