FIFA warns Tanzania

FIFA has issued a warning to Tanzania country's football federation through the FIFA Secretary General, Jerome Valcke who sent a letter to the President of TFF over reports that the Tanzanian government was getting involved with the internal affairs of the TFF. The TFF President in response has urged that the issue be handled between TFF, FIFA and the Tanzanian authorities. After the matter has been sorted out, FIFA plans to send delegation to look into the electoral process issue.

The Government according to the media have advised the TFF to continue using the old statues which states "that its member associations must remain independent of their respective national government and routinely suspend those who break the rules" for upcoming elections as they dismissed the new statues calling it illegal.

Tanzania has never qualified for the World cup but currently occupy the second position in Group C of the african qualifiers with three points, if they get suspended, they automatically get dropped from the 2014 World Cup qualifier and their clubs removed from African competitions.
