Super Eagles of Nigeria receive $25,000 each

All the 23 players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria squad that won the 2013 Afcon in South Africa this year were handed a $25,000 cheque on Sunday by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF). The payment could have been made earlier had the NFF's cash allocation from the federal government been received in time. The federation also received recently the cash prize of $1.5m from CAF for winning the Afcon.
The coach and other officials of the team were also paid.
The team also received cash donations worth over $9m from other sources including state governments and companies.
